This is my delima.The color

As you see in Fig#1 Below. The Tail has no dark shading on top.

As you see in Fig#2 Below it clearly has.

Now seen in Fig#3 Below both Stamps Side by Side.

Now on to Fig#4 Below You can see the Spur has a spot behind it. And the Sunset is void of the Darker shade on top.

Now Fig#5 Below. The Sunset clearly has Darker shading on top and a spot in the center. As For the Spur it is void of the spot behind it.

What my Question is. Do I have Myself A very good Piece of rarity. Or was this Common in the 1960s printings of Decaris.

I have been collecting for Two weeks now. I cant seem to put these little Flat pieces of paper down. I am learning so if my Questions are of the Stupid Variety Please forgive me.

Thank You
Steve

Stever....

There are no stupid questions.

Color varieties of this type are very common on this stamp.

Time and examining many stamps, and reading will get you past the newbie stage. There is always something new to learn. I have been at it for over 50 years and still don't know enough.

The only thing that changes is you begin to realize just how much there is to know about everything.

I think you have a great eye stever. I have many dupes of this stamp I'm going to have to go back and have a second at them.

By the way I've asked many questions on this forum and have never been made to feel dumb. The exact opposite by the way. So just ask away.

Dianne
