It provides more information about some varieties I think? It is also useful if you collect 1840-1940 because you don't need to have 6 different volumes, you can just have one.
For some (most?) countries, it provides more detail on varieties, multiples, errors, nh pricing, and prices on cover for the early material, so there's information in there that's not in the regular volumes.
To put a number on what others have been saying, the 2013 Classic contained more than 8000 price changes for varieties, covers, etc., not in the regular Scott worldwide catalogs.
