I think I've seen some of these on the forum, but for the life of me I can't find a thread. But I'm hoping someone here can tell me something about them.
Received another batch of cinderellas and labels, mainly US WWI and II patriotic labels. These two ships were amongst the treasures, the USS Roper and USS Zane.
They must be part of a bigger set. What's interesting is they are on what appear to be incredibly heavy photographic paper.

Both ships seem to have interesting histories - the Zane was moored at Pearl Harbour on the morning of December 7, 1941.
These will both lead to some interesting research, I'm sure.

U.S.S. Zane: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Zane_(DD-337)

U.S.S. Roper: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Roper_(DD-147)

Both are destroyers and both scrapped shortly after WWII.

Funny, I deleted the word battleship from the text, because I knew someone would correct me. Always check your title!
