I got an email from bidstart today about a new prize contest. I'll bet one of our really knowledgeable (aka smarter than me) members can win it! If one of us does win it, let us all know. yakboomer

Two members of the bidStart community have joined forces to bring you the 'Mega Name that Stamp Tournament'

Michael78651 and Lokos are providing over $500 in total prizes for this game, including the approximate $255 grand prize package.

To play is simple. Just be the one to identify the mystery stamp! The game has three rounds where players qualify to move on to the next level up to the final round where the champion stamp identifier will be crowned. The game is played in the bidStart General Philatelic Forum with pictorial clues provided for each stamp.

For more information, as well as to participate, please see their official forum thread here:

where the game will begin shortly, as well as their separate discussion thread here:

The rules and procedures are absolutely incomprehensible. I can't even tell if the competition's started yet.

Even bidStart member sellers are trying to advertise. In so doing this, they are doing the job Stanly Gibbons desperately need to do to bidStart.

It is a dead auction site and a contest by seller members is not going to achieve anything.

Leadership by the owners of bidStart is needed. The whole system needs to be looked at, it is broken and worn out. The whole system needs to be renewed and refreshed by started from the beginning again a building an auction site that fully works for buyers and sellers. IMO

Not a Happy Stamper. KGV

I have to agree with doug2222, the whole contest thing is poorly organized.

Here's the discussion thread on the BidStart site where you could offer suggestions and discuss:
