Hi,

Again thanks for all previous people who have helped to answer my previous questions. But I have some more questions...

1) Does any country still cancel stamps with a paquebot cancel? I tried finding online can't seem to get any info..

2) Does a cancelled stamp count when those orange barcode things on the mail end up over lapping the stamp but the normal cancel didn't't go over it. (Orange barcode thing- those orange vertical lines you see on the mail...)

3) To any Canadian residents, I have tried asking Canada Post this question but no luck. Does anyone know how many permanent stamps is needed to send overseas?

4) I'm curious about exhibiting my stamps at a stamp exhibiting competition. What are the tips and tricks and things I should know. I thought it was really cool but unsure how the process works.

Thanks to those who are able to answer these questions.

If it has the orange bar code markings on your stamp then it's been through the mail system and would be illegal to re-use. I don't believe any paquebot cancels are still in use.

Bagua, the current domestic rate in Canada is $.63. So that is what the permanent stamps (the ones with P on them....I never tire of saying that!) are worth. The international rate is $1.85, so that would take three P stamps. This would total $1.89, but of course Canada Post doesn't care if you overpay. It's when you don't pay enough they get upset.
