I thought about getting a packet of the Stanley Gibbons hinges. Does anyone know if they are truly peelable? The package says they are but they all claim that.

Very nice wt1!
Would love to see the way you layout your better and mint stamps in Vario pages & stamp mounts. I do similar as you can see in the photos.
I keep duplicates in clear, 20 pocket coin sheets, and sometimes copy and print a description. For something more fun (being a scrapbooker), I then take individual clear trading card sleeves, make smaller pocket using my handy dandy Impulse Sealer (I cut the sleeve to size and then seal the sides). Once I have a smaller pocket, I put the stamp inside and then get out my scrapbook papers and create a nice page. I've also included some other pages.

I'll have to look into that Impulse Sealer, as I've never seen one before.

Anyway, here's another example of what can be done with stamp hinges and some precancel stamps on 4x6 cards. Convenient in keeping groups of stamps together that are not quite complete enough to put on album pages, yet you can easily store them in a pocket of a stockbook or photo album page protector:

What a fantastic idea! I have a bunch of clear, 2 pocket sheet protectors, made to hold postcards and those would be great to keep 4 x 6 cards inside! I'd like to make up my own cards, make them to size, a bit bigger maybe out of card stock. I am excited to start this!

Regarding the Impulse Sealer, you can buy one from ebay for around $25 with free shipping. What's great about them, is it has a dial on the front to adjust the heating element. But what I really like, it does not stay or keeps hot. It will only turn on (the heating element) when the top bar is pressed to the bottom, as soon as it gets to dialed temperature, it automatically shuts off, even if you are still pressing the top bar down. For the price, it's good to have if you like to dink around like I do.

Sue Stamps,

I too have an impulse sealer and have been experimenting with making my own mounts. I use 8 1/2 x 11 polypropylene sleeves. Cut them down and heat seal them on three sides to black acid free card stock. Having problems with keeping straight edges but improving on the process. The sleeves are .002 but have been looking at .001 Dura-lar wrap when I run out of the sleeves. But it does make the pages thicker in the binder.
I have been looking for a cheap source for black non reactive polypropylene, or polyester plastic sheeting to replace the card stock because I am afraid the black coloring of the card stock coming off.
