Park soo-dong's 'Goindol' - set in the Stone Age, deals with adult
issues. First seen in the Sunday Seoul magazine.



Bae Gum-taek's 'Youngsim-i' - deals with the life of a 13 year old
girl, first appeared in the children's comic I.Q. Jump, before being
turned into a successful animated series for children.

Again from the Republic of Korea (South Korea), this time the 7th Cartoons issue:

"Iljimae" by Ko Woo-young - first appeared in the Daily Sports in 1975.


"Kkeobeongi" by Kil Chang-duk - the character is a not-so-bright, yet
kind-hearted boy, first published in two children's monthlies: "Manhwawangguk"
and "Sonyeonjungang"

Continuing the series on the Topic of Cartoons, these stamps were issued by the Republic of Korea (South Korea) on 4th May 2002:

'Mengkkong-i Seodang Village School' by Yoon Seung-woon - the unruly class is only attentive when the kindly schoolmaster tells stories from the era of the Choseon Kingdom, first appeared as a cartoon series in the children's magazine Treasure Island.


'Wogdoggle Dugdoggle' by Hwang Mi-na - the Goh family is a boisterous, sometimes
troublesome group of six children and parents. Characters first appeared in 1992 in Renaissance.

The 9th series of Cartoon characters from the Republic of Korea (South Korea) were featured in these stamps:

"The Goblin's Cap" by Shin, Moon-soo, first appeared in "Okaedongmu", a children's magazine, in 1972. The cap bestows invisibility on the wearer, leading to all sorts of jolly japes in the hands of the mischievous Hyuk.



"The Sword of Fire" by Kim, Hye-rin, first appeared in the cartoon magazine "Denggi" in 1992. It deals with feuding tribes and male/female relationships in ancient times.
