This is a cool looking Receiving mark on back of a cover I just found in my collection whilst moving stuff around:



It would appear to be a roller cancellation device. Neat! Any info on this puppy? I've searched around and didn't come up with anything? Thanks.

A cropped close up, (and darkened up the image) up to show what I believe is a the parallel roller marks top & bottom

Its a machine cancel. American Stodard Machines model B22 in use in Dallas 1900-1902. Yours is a type 6 marking.

There are lots of places to pickup the extra inking. For those who have never seen a canceling machine up close here is an International Postal Supply model HD-2.
