Does anybody have information on these two stamps .The Scott catalog shows all NIGERIA stamps have regular perforations. Both these show a ragged sewing machine perforation ,I suspect both are attempts to defraud the post office because they came from a on paper kilo lot .Post any information that can be helpful.
These stamps are fakes. They are used for thymus 'Nigerian letters'. These letters ask for money and cheated to whom he would give. Forged thousands of stamps, is proved by the teeth so imperfect.
Back in the day when the Nigerian scam was done through the mail, the scammers would get a hold of U.S. telephone books to tracks down addresses for the potential scam. Some folks were taken in by it to the point that some people actually went to Nigeria and wound up murdered as a result.
Thanks to the internet and the mass of information, the Nigerian scam is widely known and easy to spot. Another variation is the Spanish Lotto scam. I received one of those scam letters probably 6-7 years ago. At least the stamp was real this time.
I've seen photos and youtube videos now where the potential scammed made fools of the scammers by making them stage performances of Monty Python's "Dead Parrot Sketch" and other weird thing just to mess with them.
