Does anyone know how a page can be deleted in a PDF file?
I have a document that has a duplicate page and I would like to delete it.
I only have Adobe Reader.

as far as I know you need Acrobat Professional or something similar for that.

Hi rsmall003

Here is what I have done in the past.

1. Go to this link:
    http://www.pdfonline.com/pdf-to-wor...fault-b.aspx

I have found this utility to be one of the better ones.

2. If the document size is 2M or under
Click Upload a File to Convert
    Otherwise download the trial version.

3. Once you have a WORD document you can then delete the page.

4. At the same link click on the Word to PDF and reconvert to PDF.

The easiest thing to do is to load the PDF on a CD or DVD and go to FedEx Office/Kinkos and use their facilities (relatively cheap). My local FedEx Office has all of the office products available for use.

You can't do it with the free "reader" Adobe software. I have gone to Kinkos and for a fee you can use their computer. I also have found free PDF software that lets you read, write and edit. It is not Adobe, but it works. Just do a google search for it.

You can also open the file and then "print" selected pages (the doc less the duplicated pages) to a new .pdf file. This works if your printer selection has pdf output as one of the options.

Hi rsmall003

chipg has a great idea. I totally forgot about some software.

Go to this site:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
and download and install PdfCreator (it is free).

I have been using this for a few years now. It installs as a printer.
Therefore, as chipg says, print the pages you want. All you have to do is select PdfCreator in the print dialog box. The pages will print to a PDF file. Once finished you should have a PDF file without the duplicate page.

This is easier than converting PDF to WORD to PDF.

I also use this program if I want to convert any office document to PDF format.

If you have any problems e-mail me and I will try to get you going.

PDF is my all-time unfavorite program/software, hands down. There seems to be 100 things you can't do for every 1 thing you can.

Hi doug2222

Check this out from the same people as PdfCreator:
http://www.pdfarchitect.org/

I installed it when I upgraded my PdfCreator. I am going to play with it and see if it is any better than the Abobe Reader. If it is better than Adios Adobe. I have Reader 10 and it is slow and I think it is worse than the previous version.

Another alternative is to install a pdf printer for example - doPDF. What this does is allow you create anything in PDF that you could print.

Then open your pdf and print it to your printer (dopdf) but only specify the pages you need.

Anyone needs help with this method let me know.

Just to add my 2¢ worth ...

lots of PDF printers out there. I used CutePDF for years, but the best I've found is BULLZIP:

to permanently delete the page, upload your file to google documents, and edit it using their program. then you can re-save as pdf file without the duplicate page.

There is a lot that gets lost in translation. You could lose embedded fonts and other PDF goodies. But if you want to try one of these apps will load the PDF and then you can save it back out as a PDF:
