I just got this in my INBOX from Amos Publishing if anybody is interested. Now is the time to order the U.S. Specialized Catalog.

Since there was no link or attachment to TinMan's post, I thought I'd provide it below. Essentially, Amos is discounting their 2013 Scott Specialized Catalog of US Stamps by $10, to a new price of $59.99 (formerly $69.99). While it may be a good discount for some, what they don't tell you is that the price went up $10 in the 2013 catalog year, so essentially, they're only discounting it to the price level it was in the past several years. It sounds like they may have over-produced the printing and are left with too many extra catalogs to sell before the 2014's come out.

If you really want to save some $ on these catalogs, I'd wait to see if they come out with some limited "scratch and dent" catalogs later in the year. They are typically more heavily discounted and the minor "damage" is relatively insignificant especially as a collector starts thumbing through all of the pages on a daily basis.

I didn't see any scratch'n'dent full WW 2012 sets last year. Then again, maybe they all got sold when I wasn't looking!

Also they don't tell you the shipping is over $8., even though if you mouse-over the banner, you briefly see the tag "Free Shipping." I had to do a print-screen and send it to Amos before they "believed" me, and if I don't hear back from them by Tuesday, I'll buy one on ebay. Amos has one of the most screwed-up websites I've ever seen for a supposedly savvy retailer. I hope an Amos executive is reading this.

I have talked to amos about this in the past, they really have no interest in re-doing their website to make it better.
I have gotten emails for a product and then was unable to find the product on their website, even searching by their product code.

Amen to that! When I read the online edition of Linn's, the Scott catalogues are from 2010 and Scott Stamp Monthly is a current publication. Why such grossly outdated information?

If I may also add the fact that they made a HUGE MISTAKE eliminating the publication of the Stamp Yearbook beginning in 2011.
