These are really bugging me. Here is what I believe:

Watermark Crown, Die A (SG 327?)
To its right Watermark Crown (Inverted), Die B (SG 329?)
Watermark Crown, Healthy Lion, Die A (SG 341?)

In the next picture:
Watermark Simple Cypher, Die B, pinhole (SG 336?)
Watermark Simple Cypher, Healthy Lion, Die A (SG 345?)
Watermark Multiple Cypher, Healthy Lion, Die A (SG 349)

Can our British experts check my SG numbers? It would also be nice to know the corresponding Scott numbers (if available). Any extra value to the inverted watermark? Also, what is meant by "No cross on crown"? (Is this the cross on the watermark or the cross at the very top of the stamp?) I'm only missing a couple of the 1/2d stamps in order to complete the page. Thanks so much.

"No cross on crown" means missing at top of stamp. Top 2 have cross, bottom 2 do not.

1912 1d Scarlet. Very fine unused o.g. block of four showing varieties "No cross on Crown" on bottom left hand stamp (Variety unmounted) and "No Cross on Crown and Broken Frame" on bottom right hand stamp. Scarce. Spec. N12e/g.

Partime

The first thing is to get away from the idea of two dies (as you note A and B) ----

There are three for this value (accepted within the philatelic community as) ...

Die 1A - the first die
Die 1B - re-touched to try and get better impressions
Die 2 - Used after the above failed

They are for this value very simple to tell apart once you know what you are looking for / or at ....

More details to follow as I am going to crop and use the stamps to have to show the points and this should make it easier for you to seperate them out

Seperation of Die 1 from Die 2 is the simplist task

Die 2 stamps have the shaded lion whilst Die 1 (A and B) have the unshaded lion

Your first three stamps are shown below with the die types

Die 1A

Die 1B

Die 2

Next I will show how to seperate Die 1A from Die 1B

Having established that it is simple to find the Die 2 stamps, the only issue is in seperating the Die 1A from the Die 1B stamps

Again using your exmples, the difference is shown below

The point to look for is the second line (indicated with the arrows)

In Die 1A the line goes from top to bottom of the design area

In Die 1B the line is short, similar to the first line (to its left)

You should now be able to assign these values to the correct die type

The SG numbers you have assigned for these three are correct

The question regarding the 'cross on crown' is answered by Rhino Dino and well illustrated in the bottom stamps of the block shown

I will now take a look at the simple and multiple cypher stamps

The three stamps shown as Simple and Multiple Cypher are assigned the correct SG numbers ....

With regards to the outstanding question on inverted watermark on the Crowns Wmk Die 1B stamp, this is common and comes from printings made for booklets

In these printings half the sheet had upright Wmk and half inverted.

I attach below a page from my notes that shows part of the registration sheet for booklet printings, and this will show why the upright / inverted wmk happened due to the sheet layout

Hope all the above helps ....

Regards .. ALLAN
