OK, I begrudgingly agreed to assist an old friend to help identify some covers and stamps he has. I did not know that it was mostly World Wide stuff! Anyway he has these 2 what I believe to be Mexico metered air mail covers with some interesting backstamps on them. I would very much like to gather any information I can about these and basically tell him weather they are keepers or not? If anyone can help that would be fantastic! Thank you VERY much!
Puebla is the capital city of the state of Puebla, Mexico, and is located east of Mexico city. "Banco Mercantil De Puebla, S.A." is the Merchant Bank of Pueblo, the S.A. is a legal designation that indicates the bank is a privately held bank. Although the covers are not of much value, I personally would definitely keep them.
As I have really learned over the last couple of weeks, covers are a moving target when trying to establish a value. I posted a couple of covers on a different thread and the consensus was that they were both $10.00 covers. One just sold for $90.00 and the other sold for $55.00. Stamps are what they are and for the most part will have the same value amongst a group of collectors but covers bring in an entirely different aspect.
Postmarks, routing, Personal attachment, not to mention the Stamp or Meter in your case really can affect the value between Two collectors. So basically the value of that cover I'm guessing is somewhere between $2 and $100.... Sorry for not being much help :)
