To me, the earlier french stamps, and even some of the later ones, are like miniature works of art. I think that is what makes them attractive.

I collect France too (MNH condition). I fully completed the period 1940-76 and I plan to round it to 1990 in the following months.

There's quite a range of these, from the Sewer series onwards, and they all carry more or less of a premium in terms of CV.

I use for my French collection the Leuchtturm album pages. With their SF mounts they are just perfect for MNH collections.

I do collect Europa and right now I'm working with France. I received a auction lot yesterday. It contained a good old France collection 1849-1958.
