Does anyone know what this place in Pakistan is? It looks to me like LAMA BAZAM, but Google doesn't turn up any such place.

There is a Lama Bazar district in Sylhet. Sylhet is in Bangladesh today, but in 1951 it would have been considered part of Pakistan.

Just a guess. I really don't know.

Thanks for the suggestion, khj - it would explain why searching for locations in Pakistan proved fruitless. I'm pretty sure you'd be right.

I'm sure Kim is right and this is from Sylhet but there is also a small place called Lama Bazar south of Chittagong also in Bangladesh.
