I used to sometimes post on these, and liked to talk to other sellers about issues with buyers, etc, usually got good friendly advice. Over the past year or two I have noticed a deterioration in the atmosphere on those boards. To be blunt it seems like they are full of shills for ebay. The old friendly atmosphere is lacking. I post a link to a listing I placed and it gets savaged by other board members.

Recently I find I cannot post on the discussion bopards. There used to be a logo to click on for a new poost, it nwever shows up for me when I go there. I actually wonder if I got banned or something, I sure never heard about it if I did. Any others notice this?

What's so funny is all the twists and turns so many posters on there take to go along with whatever ebay does. Sort of reminds me of communists in the Stalin era. I have read that ebay plans to scrap these boards sometime. Why wait- they're worthless now.

At one time (Not sure who still is involved if any) there were quite a few experts that helped ebay with Stamp listings. I won't mention the names in case they don't want the affiliation, but they were very well respected in the Stamp world but I believe ebay policies chased them away.

Just one example- I had an issue with a buyer in Ukraine who was refusing to pay for registration on his purchase- the listing had it as required if over $30 and outside the US. I posted a question about it on Ebays International Trading board, hoping to get some feedbackm on others who'd sold there and how much of a risk it'd be to send as regular mail.

I got piled on by all the posters there- all seemingly regulars. I was an awful person, he was no dfoubt a very nice man, etc etc. They ridiculed my description, my scan you name it. I got asked what I was so worried about, after all, it's 'only stamps.' I replied and related a case earlier in which a buyer in Poland claimed non receipt and I lost $50, I was told my reply was 'silly'. I finished by telling them they were silly themselves and a waste of time. Funny, for a couple weeks after that I could't access the post function on their boards. I think someone suspended me for sassing them.

I can post there again now, but why would I want to. It's just a snapshot of all that has gone bad on ebay in the past few years.
