Below are the pictures of two stamps of 1930. The left one has the perfs as described in Scott, while the one on the right (blue) has something 'non-standard'. Both stamps are of exactly the same size, though the blue one feels considerably thinner by touch and looks smoother. Any idea? Answers and explanations will be appreciated.

Hi CollGStamps

The Australian Stamps Professional magazine did a three part series on the "Sturt" issue. It began with the August/September issue. The articles are very informative, perhaps they will have something.
The Magazine has a web site, so the articles may be available there
www.australianstampspro.com
Hope this helps

Several early Australian issues had "fluffy" perfs, especially the 5/- and 10/- values. I don't recall the details, but it helps identify certain printings.

Thank you for the answers.
I tried The Australian Stamps Professional and found no articles related to my questions.
