Sweden Watermark 181 (Wavy Lines)

Hi! Newbie here.

Does anyone have a clear photo or scan of what Sweden's watermark 181 (wavy lines) is supposed to look like? I have watermark fluid but I just can't tell what I'm looking at.

Image from the Scott catalog. Just look for slightly curved equidistant lines.

Thanks, khj! I was really hoping to see it on an actual stamp- I do have the Scott catalog, but it seems I have some broken lines or just one or something. My stamp is a smaller, regular squarish one.

Welcome...can you tell us which stamp you are looking at? That might help us with an answer.

I agree that looking at an actual stamp can be quite helpful for watermarks.

This is with watermarking fluid. I did not see the watermark in this case without it.

Note two slightly curved lines at the lower left and upper right of the stamp? These lines obviously are fairly far apart. That should help I would think.

Yes- CJ and JK- that has helped a lot! I had been expecting the lines to be thicker, as in the Scott catalog example. Now I see that they can be thinner, and it is possible to have just one line. I am looking mainly at 1920s Gustav V 15o and 20o. Hoping of course that they are Sc 189 & 189A- ha! What are the chances? But a girl can dream...

I had difficulty distinguishing the wavy lines watermark on a stamp I recently purchased as Sweden Sc. 135, the 5ore heraldic lion definitive coil perf. 13. When I scanned an image of the back of the stamp and manipulated it using the 'levels' tool in my image program, a watermark did appear which may be the wavy lines, but sideways rather than vertical in the stamp. Is this watermark known to occur sideways?

The 5 öre standing lion of 1922, perf 13 vertically, is known with the wavy lines, wavy lines + text, inverted wavy lines and inverted with text. There's a decent adder for inverted watermark. :)
Normal curves bottom left toward upper right, inverted curves upper left to bottom right. You need to soak the hinge off and rescan at a higher resolution for me to tell what you have.
