I do not know Japanese stationery well enough to give you exact figures. Some of the very rare ones can go for $10 to $200, but those are few and far between. The prices paid on ordinary ones seem to be around $1 each if you buy them one at a time, or something like 50 cents to 75 cents if you buy them several at a time. Is this the kind of price you are paying?

Yes Kimo

I bought them mainly for trading and they were either 25 or 50 cents apiece.

Thanks for the response.

Ah, Bujutsu. I assume that was Barrie, and I can see why you had to leave early. You'd already found some really nice stuff.
But you missed these two. I found them at the end of the day.
I don't collect these, I just thought they were pretty.

Right jamesw, some I got at Barrie, and some I got at the North Bay show. Actually, I also have the two you show as well. I went crazy in John and Betty's cheapie box <G>.

I have to agree with you, they are quite interesting.

First is from Sasebo, but I'm not sure if the year is 1933 or 1937.

Dear Battlestamp,

The first is (as aloready mentioned by tonymacg) from Sasebo, destinated to Kobe.

The second is from Mitsuya of Settsu province (now Shonai, Toyonaka, Osaka), destinated to Higashi-ku, Osaka. The date is January 3rd, Meiji 41 (1908).

Regards, Hironobu

I've found some more Japanese Postal Cards!

1. Official of some sort?

2. 5y. Diet

3. Same as #2, but slightly different shade of green.

4. 2y.Diet. Any postal purpose to the red or purple handstamps?

5. Postmark has the three stars at bottom - any significance? There's also a faint box handstamp of unknown purpose.

6. Interesting printed text in purple.

7. Older postal card

8. Same type, different color than #7

9. Mystery Red handstamp

10. Purple circular handstamp of unknown purpose
