I've been in and around that town years ago but never paid the post office much attention. Anyway, here's more "fun facts" about US Post Offices nationwide:

We saw the Hinsdale PO yesterday. I have been sitting here trying to find info online about it, and I can't find ANYTHING. Why is it everything I try to look for online is never there???

Amazing American postal history. There is another better known post office known as the world's oldest known post office in existence is the Sanquhar Post Office which has been in continual operation since 1712. That's over 302 years! There is so much history to it. There have been whole families literally born in the post office. Sanquhar is a town on the River Nith in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. It lies north of Thornhill and west of Moffat. It is a former Royal Burgh.
