Heard this term "favor canceled" many times. I guess, this is what it looks like?

Wurttemberg stamps are on the watermarked paper.

I know this Saar set catalogs at $200 postally used and $70 mint in my 2008 catalog. What would be the estimate for these favor canceled?

This is a guess, only, but I suspect that a seller would be happy to get $10-15 in an online auction.

I guess this implies that being on the sheet like this does not add any value.

I'm assuming they are favor cancels and not outright faked cancels (e.g., back-dated cancels). Their value is typically less than the mint catalog value, as favor cancels and faked cancels are abundant. On cover favor cancels are worth more, but still not as much as stamps/covers with indications (or expertized) of genuine postal usage (i.e., actually went through the mail system, rather than a hand-back).

Thank you for additional information. I really do not know whether these are favor canceled or faked cancel. I like these Wurttemberg sheets, but have a mint set of the Saar's ones. If I consider selling this sheet of Saar stamps, I'll keep it intact so the buyer can see for sure that these stamps are not postally used.

That's a good move. Some might cut it up to try to sell each as a stamp 'on piece' in order to maximize dollars. Your piece is still interesting, as is...

Cjd is right. I've seen some sellers offer individual cut-outs from these sheets, promoting them as used tied on piece. You think the piece is part of a cover, but it's not.

I'm afraid my Saar collection is archived right now. But normally, if you accumulate enough of them, you can tell by the cancel date which ones are fake or back-dated. It's just like the CTO's, there are a finite number of dates. In this case, typically less than half a dozen. I collected them anyway -- just with the understanding that they aren't anywhere close to the catalog value for postally used.
