This film would do a lot of good for the hobby over many years as it is syndicated. I hope it comes to the $75,000 goal in time.

It seems they have teamed up with Sundman, the owner of Mystic Stamp.

It would be a great film. The mystery and intrigue of philately. I really believe there are millions of potential philatelists out there who never learn the path and enjoyment the hobby and pursuit provide! The film could help bring some of these souls to the counters and albums!

What also struck me as fishy, is that they don't even have a finished product. I thought you could only offer finished products on Kickstarter. They are selling a movie which doesn't exist.

No, please read the "What is Kickstarter" page. The idea is to donate to ideas to help them become fully developed and released. It is also a donation, not a funding operation. You do not take any material interest in the project, while being developed, nor when fully funded and completed. Some nice little "gifts" can be had when everything is completed, but those are clearly listed. Hey, have some fun. If you like the idea, go ahead and donate. If not, search through some other things to see if something else is of interest to you.

Lastly, your donation is not actually sent unless the donation goal is met. Otherwise, they get nothing and you owe nothing. A very interesting, yet ancient concept come back to life in the internet age.

The future of the Hobby of Kings now has the opportunity to be positively impacted by Internet and movie making technology that will provide a payback year over year.
