I collected 30 years before I even met my wife. She has no idea just how much I've spent on stamps over that time. It's just a harmless hobby to her, but I do get the "rolling eyes" periodically when I see something cool on here.

I have several other hobbies that require cash outlay, that she does know how much I spend for. So I know fully well the "Can't you just sell___________?", especially around Xmas time.

My 4 y.o. grandson has expressed a slight interest in what grandpa does in that room upstairs, but he isn't quite old enough yet, in my opinion. I will try to keep him interested though, and maybe in a year or 2.....??

My significant other is interested in my collection. She always asks, "Whats this one worth?" and, Lets sell them! I don't think so!

Simple solution to the problem. Don't have a "significant other." ;-)

We want someone who love us as much as we love our stamps collection! hahaha

I am in the same boat as you. Well, Kinda. Once coins slowed down for me, I started getting into stamps and the other half has been filling her US book up with anything she can find. She gets jealous now when I get some classics she doesent have, So I tend to put those in my Album when she is away.

But it is fun sharing a hobby with some one close.
