The underlying stamp is Crete, Scott #80. I cannot identify the overprint. Any ideas? The image has been enhanced with photoshop to bring up the overprint. The stamp itself is MLH.
Thanks, Doug. I feel pretty dumb - I guess with my concentration on British colonials and Stanley Gibbons catalogues I have gotten used to seeing listed overprints as stand alone first rather than on a stamp. That is certainly what I was looking for (not very carefully, obviously) when I went through my Scott. thanks very much. A bit disappointing, of course, that the value dropped so low with the overprint :-(
