I inherited a fairly large Canada / USA collection over several years from my grandfather, planning on branching out in the Americas as I've got plenty of duplicates. One of the more interesting items is a complete set of the United States 1895 Bureau Issues with the blue "UNIVERSAL POSTAL CONGRESS" overprint. (#s 264S-278S) I've seen several different albums, but most aren't complete enough so I think I'm going to try the Steiner pages, as I'm hoping to be able to add pages where necessary without them looking too out of place.

Hello Dave,
Do you have any Newfoundland stamps? I specialize in those and would be delighted to give you information or see some

tommy, I do have quite a few Newfoundland stamps, both mint and used. Mint is spotty before Scott #50, and almost complete after #60, while the used has more spaces to fill.
They are different though, with stamps like 41/42/43 & 53/54/55 getting different Scott numbers mostly due to what seems like minor color variations? |

Hello again Dave, Cool. Newfoundland is filled with a lot of variations and some are easy and fun to spot like 145-159 and 163-171 which look alike but have minor changes. as you noted with 41/42/43 they are color variations (violet brown, grey brown, brown). you could get a philatelic color chart (I have one), or rely upon an expert or trusted person. the unitrade catalog is excellent as they have color example pictured. you must have a unitrade. just to share or possibly help, i'll attach a scan of my mint examples of 41-55 shortly i'd be curious if you have 88c? best |

88 & 88a, but no 88c. I do have a Unitrade catalog, much more detailed than the Scott for Canada and provinces. That's a nice page you posted with the color differences, I think I may have not been looking close enough when I went through those issues and assumed a couple of the variations were duplicates. Luckily I thought Newfoundland was a little more complicated than most of the regular Canada issues, so I haven't gotten rid of any duplicates yet. Do you think the colors in the Unitrade are fairly close for these type of issues? As far as the USA goes, here's the United Postal Congress specimens. |

Hello, it is always nice to see a complete page of nice stamps. It would be nice also if you could share these scans with the rest of the community, out in the regular, Canada and US forums, where more people look. Only members look in here, in the introduce yourself thread and even then not all of them do that at times. I have just seen a few of the Newfoundland in my own hands when helping to dispose of my brother's inherited collections. |

Hello Puzzler, I'm new and not sure how to share with the rest of the community as you suggested, but it will be my homework assignment to do so today. Thank you for teaching me. |
