Hi to all

A couple of questions.
I am sorting a world collection that I purchased and on the back of these Spanish stamps I have noticed some numbers stamped. Are they dealer numbers or control numbers from the Spanish Post Office.
The other question, has anyone seen this mis-perferation or own one.
It two is from the world collection.

Regards
Horamakhet

Hi Horamkhet,

Stamps were issued by the postal authority with control numbers printed on them. Some numbers are in red, but most are blue.

Perforation is notoriously poor for Spanish stamps, especially definitives, of the late 19th and early to mid 20th centuries. So much so that the misperforation on your stamp is not remarkable.

Hi Smauggie

Thanks for that, it is interesting to note that not all stamps have control numbers, only certain one.
