The GB 00p Machin stamps have long been banned on ebay, but today I was browsing whilst eating my Cheese and Marmite Sandwich and what did I find ?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GB-MACHIN-0...em460f97ba68

I have written to ebay for confirmation of their 'change of heart' but as all their replies are automated I do not expect news any time soon !

They are De La Rue colour comparison stamps. As far as I am aware, not the correct comparison by the seller in the link.
They 'escaped' from the Dutch printers Enschede and were first seen being sold illegally in an Amsterdam market. This is the information I was given and I have not been able to confirm it.
Then I read that ebay had banned their sales as a few appeared online [pressure from higher up maybe?].
They should not be in private hands.......but then neither should Forgeries and other such peripheral items.

They are not denominated. They really shouldn't be more "illegal" than proofs, printers waste or coil test strips.

Unless they were stolen from Enschede as Londom Bus suggests.
