That is a nice looking stamp, I always wanted one of those.

Scott says this below Peru No. 2:

"Stamps of 1 and 2 reales, printed in various colors on white paper, laid and wove, were prepared for the Pacific Steam Navigation Co. but never put in use. Value $50 each on wove paper, $400 each on laid paper."

I suspect your stamp would be one of those, as the regular stamps have blue paper. Perhaps the cancel is fake.

It looks like one of the white paper ones. I have several of the white paper series with cancels. I don't know if the cancels are fake or were used privately by P.S.N.C. ships.

I cant figure this issue out - I'm sure its extremely complicated, but if anyone can point me at a site (or something - anything) that can get me started. Mr. Scott isnt helping.
