Hi All,

we are now finalizing an addition to EzPerf so it can handle round stamps. As far as I know, there is no way to measure round stamp perfs with traditional gauges.
We have the module done, but need more round stamp scans to effectively test it. I only had about 6 in my collection. Has to be more out there!
If anyone can scan any round stamps they have at 300 dpi on a black background & post them here or email them to me, it would help a lot. Once I have about 100 round stamps, we will conduct the test & then incorporate the module into EzPerf. Existing EzPerf customers will get the n ew verion at no charge.
Thanks
Marios

I can scan the US Global Forever stamp if you'd like. It's the only round stamp I have.

I don't have examples to scan, but don't forget Malaysia (Scott #82 and #83) and, of course the first US Round Stamp, the $11.75 Space Achievement and Exploration Stamp (Scott 3412) issued on 07/07/2000.

Hi Marios, my scanning talent is slow but today I will try and send some. May have about 30 to 40 of them from the oddball collection. It will just take awhile.

This should get you going. I still have much more to scan.

Interesting. When I saw the Global Stamp, It never occurred to me that there isn't a way to measure the perfs on it. I'm glad I only collect old US. Not much complication there. Just wait till someone makes an oval stamp! Or stamps shaped like animals!

It could happen!

Hi IBFS,

One of '1775mac's souvenir sheets has them in oval formats (re-shown below)! Also, I remember seeing stamps from Japan commemorating "Letter Writing" that are also round, oval, triangles and diamonds.

Now all we need is the animal shaped ones....

Round stamps will have to be measured by the following:
Counting how many perforations (holes or teeth) there are around the circumference of the stamp and the measurement of the circumference in centimeters of the stamp by measuring the diameter and multiplying it by pi to get the circumference. Then taking the number of holes or teeth and dividing by the circumference in centimeters and then multiplying by two to get the number in two centimeters which is the philatelic gauge.
