Here is an unused ticket to the 1893 Columbian Exposition I found at the stamp show today.

t360,
What a great find at a stamp show. I love going through MISC., oddball stuff and finding something I haven't seen before. All my tickets are in the used status. I have not been fortunate enough to come across a ticket with the side stub attached. Plus yours is in good shape.
That would be a nice addition to my collection.....maybe for Christmas.

I wonder if it is one of the leftover unsold tickets or did someone miss the show. The number could be a clue.

That is a really good question. It is a low number but the letter A is also an indicator for how many tickets were produced for that printing. I would have to do some research.

t360, now if you only had a time machine so you could put it to use.
Could be an interesting experience.

Londonbus the 2008 scott shows them as a set of 3 stamps for 9.75 or 3.25 apiece I think they went up in value..i see now where it says they were issued in complete sets only together with a 2.50 guilder admission ticket..i had always thought you HAD to attend the show,so I appreciate the info..i paid 50 dollars for the 3 sheets so with the catalog at 97.50 now..i guess I did not do too bad !

I just checked the largest internet sellingplace in the Netherlands (Marktplaats) and a set of 3 sheets MNH sells for price around 38 euros. 50 dollars is not bad, although I had expected it to be cheaper at your side. cataloguevalue according to NvPH seems to be 150 euros. They have high c.v. but you see a lot of them being offered, so they are not really scarce. I suppose most of them lie in stampdealers' vaults.

Time to awaken a thread long dormant !

This is a scarce British Philatelic Exhibition souvenir, catalogue value [market price] of over £50.
I was extremely surprised to have been the only bidder and won it for under a tenner.
I have been after it for a long time but have never seen it...ever.
Now it is mine.

1961 Stampex Souvenir of two sheets of Liechtenstein stamps reprinted using the original dies, imperf.

The folder.

From the 1975 British Philatelic Exhibition.
A scarce Emerald Green version to go with the more popular Deep Blue sheet.
Only 632 numbered copies, a special Presentation Edition.
One of my favourite Exhibition pieces.

These two unadopted designs would have made beautiful GB Airmail stamps.
How sad it never materialized.

Also from the BPE, 1984. Printed by the House of Questa, original designs by Bradbury Wilkinson and Co.

Nice SSheets all. Great topic.

T360 - you seem to have some sort of ESP for covers, etc.

Liechtenstein is nice, but visually, I really like the BPE Airmails.

I've said it before, I like it when old threads see new life

My Step-Dad is from Montréal. He practically lived at Expo '67. He still has his Expo '67 passport.

Because of his interest in Expo '67, I got him collecting postcards of Montréal, and of Expo '67.

Why would the designs for proposed British Airmails not have included an image of the King?
