Hi,
I've been buying albums and stamps off ebay for the last 6 months or so. I've gotten some really good deals, and the rest were (to me) reasonable.

In the last two weeks, selling prices - especially Scott albums - seem to have increased dramatically. My wife says the various articles on stamp collecting may have brought this about - awakening folks like me who collected years ago and have finally returned to the hobby.

Do you all see the same trend, or ????

Bob of "Filling Spaces" blog fame has kept track of Big Blues on ebay filled with more than 10,000 WW classical stamps the last several years, and he has definitely noticed an upward selling trend.

Now, as far as mostly empty Scott albums- Big Blue and otherwise- selling for a generally higher price- possible, but I think the jury is still out. ;-) It is the beginning of the summer doldrums, and many collectors are elsewhere, so the buy-sell trade is thin, and can be influenced by a few transactions. If the trend continues into the Fall-Winter, then we have a trend! ;-)

I collect Cinderellas [mainly] and as I have mentioned here many times during the past couple of years, prices in general have skyrocketed.
There are still bargains to be had but you must be lucky and they are NOT on ebay.
My only Bargain purchases in the last year have come on Delcampe and Wensy....4 in total.

So "Yes" from me.

Got to agree with Londonbus1 ,the past couple of years has seen a steady upward trend. There are a number of reasons for this ,first there are less large dealer inventories and anyone who had large piles of duplicates most likey have already sold them thru any number of websites .Also there is a lot of overseas buying off of ebay so these stamps most likey will be out of the marketplace. Another factor is more and more people are making their own album pages and this is making a demand for a larger variety of stamps .

Having a great time selling on ebay and buying in bulk elsewhere.

Example, not much competition when you bid on 3,000 high denomination mini sheets (or souvenir sheets)being 30 different cancelled.

Three or four years of stock in one buy. Works for me as I can keep prices down a little.

It is nice to be on top of things again after being mauled by .com and BIN.com.au. Now .com.au is auction based it is good times while it lasts. Can list with a daily average of 700 items a day.

It is strange going through a sheet of 50 stamps for mailing in one day.
