The OMF occupations will be found in Scott under Cilicia and Syria, respectively. (OMF stands for Occupation Militaire Francaise.) They are all priced above the catalogue minimum, but not by much. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I consider them adult, because I collect them.

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with those stamps, and the fact that the catalogue value is modest means I can afford them.

I would say as a kid collecting worldwide in the '70s, I didn't run across many OMF stamps. A kid collecting in the '30s probably would have seen them.

They definitely have interest (at least to jkjblue and to me...we can't be the only ones...)

i revived these stamps when a friend passed away but I knew nothing about them. What I could gather was information from old postcards that were included. My friend Wally was born in 1922 had collected some but also his mother and grandmother took it allot seriously. I found publications The Ecomist back from the 30's. Also they were part of a club were you send off small books of various stamps to folks and I guess they took out what they wanted and sent a payment from what I can gather.
im not shure if what I have are worth anything or not. I sure would like to know maybe I got "a set of" or "the stamp" that would be worth thousands. I don't have any albums just allot of stamps but thankfully they are in approval cards stock pages and glassine envelopes.
(i was born in 1980 so seeing things that are 100+ years is really cool to see how the world was, my friends think im crazy because I will spend hours looking at the stamps I get drawn into it)

Hey, guys, we got another one! And they said stamp collecting was dead.

There are so many ways to enjoy stamps. The art, the history, the geography, the languages, the topics. Your friends may not get it right now, but down the road, one of them just might...and if not, so be it. I will say that many non-collectors seem a bit in awe of the fact that I have any number of stamps that are 150 years old. They assume that this is a really big deal. (I think it is awe...I suppose it could be pity....) Anyway, I don't disabuse them of the notion.

The best thing about stamps is that they are always sitting there - ready when you are, and patiently waiting when you are not.

Nice stamps.

The G.T. perfin was used by the Guaranty Trust Company, based in Paris and had offices in many countries. They were in use from 1926 to 1934.

SIDA = syndrome immuno-déficitaire acquis (or AIDS in English).

Cheers, Robert

Yikes!
Thank you Robert, now that was embarassing.
I have had that stamp a long time, back of book, and was just thinking SIDS
I still didn't cotton on when the Aids Scott reference was offered.
