An Early German "Customised" Picture Post Card .(1899)

It is an customised greeting-picture post card circulated within German spa RATHEN ( not faraway from Leipzig, Germany) on 2nd January 1899.

Publisher is : LIT.u.DR. B. SCHWENKE, KONIGSTEIN A/ELBE No. SCH : 2

It is a lithography made using a 1898 watercolour by A. Krelzchmar

On front side , free translation from German ,
- on bottom right hand corner, the printed text :
" Warm Greetings for the New Year - sender Erwin Kayser, Rathen " ( likely the sender ordered several postcards with this printed text for N.Y. Greetings - therefore "customised" PPC))
- on the left building : Rathen Tavern, on the right building : Roses Garden Boarding House

So far I have not been able to find out any information/details about this PPC's publisher, sender, receiver and water colour painter .

Google provides 9,500+ hits for Erwin Kayser, although most are contemporary. There are 38,000 hits for "Erbgericht Rathen," as printed on the left-hand building - a hotel which apparently still exists.

Because the cancellation is dated 1899, we can assume that the card was published then or even a little earlier by a few years. If so, this could be considered a pioneer' card?

I know that for North American cards that this era is pioneer but is it the same for European countries?
