PS Correction of a typo in my May 10 post above: The correct Scott No. for the Pakistan tea plantation stamp is 70, not 79.

Coffee production in Angola



Angola is one of the largest coffee producing country in Africa.
Coffee production was started by the Portuguese in 1830s.

Thanks for posting these great, colorful and artistic miniature works of art!

What a topic to collect!

I have too many other interests to start a collection on a new topic.

The Herend Porcelain Manufactory

The coffee services on stamps are made by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory a Hungarian manufacturing company,
specializing in luxury hand painted and gilded porcelain. The manufactory was founded in 1826.

Here are images of two stamps depicting, respectively, tea (Camellia sinensis), and coffee (Coffea arabica), printed by photogravure (Courvoisier S.A.), and issued by Kenya on February 28, 2001 as part of a set of 16 stamps showcasing crops grown in Kenya, Scott Nos. 761 & 763.

Coffee production came to Peru in the 1700s.
Today Peru is one of the largest producers of coffee in the world
and one of greatest exporter with over 200 million kilograms exported annualy.
