I recently came across this example in one of my covers with a remarkably clear slogan (even though the CDS is a bit over-inked). Although nowhere near the oldest slogan cancel around, it's a pretty nice imprint of a 99 year old slogan cancel:

I do have the entire cover, but as you can see from the cut square, the cover is torn in several place and the writer wrote quite large and into the placement of the CDS of the slogan cancel, which probably diminishes its catalog value quite a bit.
Nevertheless, it certainly is a "keeper" as far as slogan cancels go!
I recently acquired an envelope with the same cancellation. It was recobered by divers from the Empress of Ireland wreck. I thought I'd share with forum members. here it is:

The CDS (Circular Date Stamp) is that portion of the cancel containing the date and time, usually with the city name as well. The bars, lines or slogan off to the right of the CDS is the obliterator or killer.
