Before Australian Federation in 1901. the states issues there own stamps. Bandicoot gave me these a few days ago. He acquired them from another collector. There was literally thousands of Victoria (the state) stamps, all with Queen Victoria on them of course. There was so many, that somewhere, sometime, someone had tied them up in neat little bundles. It would almost be a shame to untie them. I am not a variety collector, so as long as I have one of each type I am happy. So I don't think I will untie them.
What would you do?

Steve

This looks like it's bundleware, common stamps sorted and bundled by the hundred for packet makers. Any checking for variety might or might not have been done depending on the philatelic sophistication of the person who assembled the bundles.

Steve

I had a similar experience with a lot I purchased off ebay. I received stamps from Chile. I have slowly been giving them away.

Let me know if you ever decide to sell them. It would be interesting to look through them.

Tom, I wouldn't dream of selling them to you.
You may have them. I'm not sure how well they will seperate, but I'll get them in the mail to you shortly.

Steve

P.S. I'll split the profits with you, if you find anything valuable. LOL

I wouldn't have the patience to go through all of them Steve. Like you, I'd end up giving them away to keep from having to devote that much time and effort.

Glad they arrived safely.
Hope you find something nice in there.
On the ones that I went through, I noticed some
nice cancellations, socked on the nose, with consecutive years.
Probably would be interesting to see how
many years you could find.

Steve

Steve it seems like most Aussie collectors have these pre-Federation Victorian and N.S.W.as well as other state stamps in abundance, there are watermark and variation varieties galore Tom enough to keep you going for a few cold nights at least, mine was a very small contribution Tom compared to what Steve sent you so thanks for the acknowledgement.
