Hi all

I scanned this mini sheet of Belgium. It is a cinderella stamp of some kind, but, I am not sure how it was used or applied to documents?

They appear to be some kind of 'trades' stamps but I am not sure.

Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks a lot

They look interesting.

Reminded me on some kind of "trade cards", using for the games.

Maybe they are a part of some bigger game set... will be interesting to find the instructions.

Larry,

Never seen these before but they are interesting and an excellent-looking sheet.

Anything else to go regarding information ?
I have a look around anyway.

Hi LB

I have a number of Belgian Cinderella stamps. I'll try to find the time to scan them. Some are poster types etc.

To me these cinderellas look more Flemish than "Belgian", as all coats of arms are from Flemish cities, as well as the landscapes depicted. Perhaps are Flemish propaganda/nationalist cinderellas?
The lion of Flanders is well known and I can't see the Wallon cock anywhere.
I known this a little as I was last summer in Belgium.

Thanks for that Cursus.

Maybe some day, we'll find out for sure.

Was there a movement by the Flemish to separate from Belgium?

In Belgium they say that "the only Belgians are the Royal Family". The others, are either Flemish (Dutch speaking), Wallons (French speaking) or Germans (from Eupen and Malmedy).
Don't try to speak French in Flanders or Dutch in Wallonia! I can speak French, but in Flanders I spoke English, no problem at all... Street signs are just un one langauge, except in Brussels, where are bilingual Dutch/French. Not so, people; even in Brussels.

Actually, my aunt was Belgian. She died about 5-6 years ago as a result of a hit and run accident in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

I remember her telling me that there was a rift between the French & Flemish factions. However, I was not aware that there is an organized effort to tear the country apart.

Live and learn as they say.
