Hi,
I've got several Scotts WW albums I want to auction off on ebay. From a seller's point of view, when is the best time of year to do so?

The albums are mostly Big Blue Parts 1,2, & 3 and range from "can't tell from new" to well worn, and with many stamps to none.

Thanks all,
Mobilman44

I have seen a price swing upwards in the months leading to Christmas. Hobby shopping or just being shut in for the Winter. Also, around the middle of December to February a average price drop then it picks up again before Summer because of Tax returns. Just my views and I follow auction sites daily.

Hi Mobilman44,

I agree with 1775mac. Most stamp collectors reduce their time spent on stamps during the summer, with vacations and getting outdoors. Then in September it picks up until Christmas, then another lull around Christmas and New Year (not as low as the summer), and then it picks up in mid-Feb until about May time.

With this logic, it would seem that our Australian members would have a reverse effect! Perhaps they can comment. If they do have an opposite effect, then the country you collect may have an influence!

Not summer.

(Really any time other than that is fine.)

I don't think there's a time of year. Every acquisition seems to be a crime of opportunity for me. I can almost guarantee I probably can't go a month without a fix. As far as Christmas time goes, nobody knows better than I, what stamp or item I want for Christmas. About the only thing I can't seem to find at any time of year is...time.

Depends on where you live...., I spend the most time and money on my stamps from June through August. 100 degree plus temps every day = inside the house at 78 degrees and stamp time.
