So, at the height of the roaring twenties, just before the depression, these stamps were issued.

Its page 15 from my Lighthouse Newfoundland collection.

Closeup of #148 with a very slight color difference.

And a closeup of #160...a pop trick question: what is the difference?

Answer posted tomorrow (though its easy ...)

#156 is still a favorite of mine. Just love the image of the old Vickers! It was the first Newfoundland issue I ever bought.

tommy, it appears the C of Cents is placed a little to the left on the III.

These are great! I agree with therealwesty, #156 is an impressive stamp.

So, yes the C is shifted. It seems to me that Newfoundland has a lot of surcharges that are shifted or variants...but probably the same for other countries.

Here is a closeup of the 156 ....




And of course this image continues on the next page of Newfoundland issued stamps....in a later year
