My first instinct is that it does appear to be too perfect. I would be suspicious. This stamp should be compared very closely to the overprints of others (and I will look at it compared to the many that I have if you send me the jpeg). It could easily be a real stamp with an LH but the overprint is the fake part. make sense?
In this case, if I were you, the context means everything. Where did it come from? Who is the seller? A known firm could tip the scale to a good answer. A seller on
ebay would tip it the other way, in my opinion. How much of a bargain is it? In this case, paying more (or closer to say 40% of catalog) might be counterintuitive but better to ensure its real.
