What ever happened to all of these big Canadian stamp shows (CAPEX, STAMPEX, PHILEX, CNPLE, etc.)?

I can't speak for all of the shows, but, I do know that Capex is held so many years apart. I think the first one was 1951, then again in 1978 and 1996. I think there were a couple more shows but can't remember the years. I did attend three altogether. They were 1979 and 1996 and I forget the other year.

Not sure when the next show will be?

Not sure about the exhibitions you describe, but for a listing of Canadian Stamp Dealers Association show dates, this link may be helpful:

CAPEX and STAMPEX are shows owned by TAPE (Toronto Area Philatelic Exhibitors). STAMPEX has been downloaded to GTAPA or Greater Toronto Area Philatelic Alliance. I was the co-chairman of the last 4 STAMPEX shows and would love to put another show together in the future. Unfortunately, shows do not just happen--they require a great deal of planning and hands on work by a number of people as well as having either operating funds or a major sponsor. We have been unable to get sufficient people committed to the project to even consider starting planning and we need a better venue than the Queen Elizabeth Building for a first class exhibition. Bottom line ---- get a committed team, a workable venue and some serious sponsorship and a great show can be assembled in about two years.
CNPLE by the way, is a philatelic literature competition that can be held in conjunction with a national level show but is not a show on its own.

Hi. Do you know when the next CNPLE will be? Also, I very much like and appreciate your Kiusalas Small Queens perforation chart that you have in The Unitrade Specialized Catalogue of Canadian Stamps. Thanks.

Every year in Eastern Canada there is a National or Regional class show called NovaPex which is held at the Sportsplex in Dartmouth. Exhibits are known to be of the highest quality and a very friendly atmosphere. It's organized by the Nova Scotia Stamp Club.
