Well, not much I can add here - except to confirm what others have written. Since last November I have won over 300 stamp related auctions. Now don't think that's a whole lot of money, for most of them were under $1. Almost all of them came with postage stamps, many from the 1940s and 1950s. I cut them out and have a cigar box filled with them.

Postcrossing is a good site for postcards from all over the world.

I'm a member of swap-bot.com, which does have a somewhat crafty bent to it, but also features many simple letter and penpal swaps. Here are a couple of stamp-centric swaps I've participated in:
http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/150769
http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/139903
If anyone is interested, I'm happy to answer any questions about swap-bot. Here's a link to my profile.

Here are some other sites you might check out. (I find that even if a particular site isn't really my thing, scrolling around for a list of links or a blog roll can often turn up other, different sites.)

http://goodmailday.com/ (scroll to the bottom for lots of links)

Finally, like Cjd, I'll extend an offer to send a quick note to you, Eric (or anyone else), and I'll even use my MPP cancel. Just use the forum e-mail system to send me your address. :)

Im a postcrossing member and have received 41 postcards so far. Also, I just responded to Cjd's post about covers. So.. to keep it moving along. I like to print B&W graphics on envelopes I mail out. When I mailed out the invites to the APS members in my area I sent them under "cover". Here is the one I sent to myself. I just couldn't resist.

So, send me a cover, I'll send one back. I can try themes, but no gaurantees. My address is in the pic. I prefer hand addressed, but will like what I get.

Should we have an exchange thread?

(And you bet your sweet bippy I sent a cover to myself when I issued my fantasy local post stamp!)

Kathey, got your e-mail. I'll likely hold off sending until I have several items... gotta make standing in line at the PO worth my while. Fifteen minutes today over my lunch hour, just so I could hand over a letter and two postcards I'd already cancelled. Love the MPP, hate not being able to just pop my stuff in a mailbox. :/

Also, you can find some old postcards in antique stores. I bought three $1 postcards at and antique shop to complete an album page. They were selling the postcards not for their stamps, but for their antiquity :)

Anyway, you can also find some cool stamps at flea markets and by buying from a collector (on ebay for instance) that hasn't taken the time to see what they have in their collection.

Whoever wants a cover from Indonesia can send me an email.
I will off course use nice commemorative stamps on the cover.

Maybe we can also do some swap.
So the stamps on the cover it actually good for sending something.

Try to kill two birds with one stone

In case of email, the guide line on SCF here is that you need 50 posts to send or recieve emails between members, through the SCF system.
