Hi Jessica. Its okay. I'm glad to know of someone else who appreciates the early women pilots besides me. It must have been difficult to be an aviatrix in those days and they would have needed to have family financial resources to support them. Aircraft were expensive to buy and maintain and the spotlight and corporate sponsorships were going mostly to the male pilots. My mother was not a pilot, but she was in the aviation business from before the start of the war up to the 1950s. She worked for Trans Canada Airlines as their chief designer of aircraft interiors and airport terminal interiors. She graduated with a degree in design from the University of Manitoba in the mid-1030s which was pretty unusual for the time, and then she was the only woman in a senior position in the entire TCA airline company then.
