Mint Never Hinged Has original gum, unmarked, undisturbed by finger prints, original color etc. Put a finger print on the gum and well the value goes down. Put a stamp hinged on the gum and it really goes down in value. |

Quote: You seem to have problems getting help on this forum. May I suggest you try "Stamp Boards" Sending the Sheep to slaughter, very nice. Don't even think of going there with no images to post as images are mandatory for each thread asking about certain stamps. Keep in mind that the catalog values are not the same as real world values. Only absolute Gems with perfect centering, full original gum with no hinge or hinge marks, perfect perforations and nice margins get over 50% of catalog value. |

MK, I am getting them back. Just trying to get a 1 up while they travel back to me.
Stanford has scanned the entire collection so Im using them to show pictures here. Just taking advantage of available resources. I don't have a way to scan myself. When they get here I will have to go to the library to get scans. So go with me here ok?
The auction houses are saying the same, call when I get everything in my possession.
Question, will the auction houses authenticate and/or certify them? |

ok ,2nd question... When I get them back there will be no grades for them, as the certs from Stanford seem useless. I know I will not be able to get all of it graded at one time from what I was told in here it costs a lot. I am in Virginia, can anyone tell me a QUALIFIED grader in / near Virginia?
I guess next question would be what US stamps are in wanted most, right? So those would be what I should get scanned and graded first. Keep this in mind, I live on a very limited budget so if grading costs then I would have to do it little by little.
This is a learning experience for me so people please don't chop off my head. |

Based on the catalog numbers you provided I highly doubt that your material is Siegel quality. Siegel has sold some of the most famous US collections and I'm pretty sure there is a minimum value the collection must have before they'll entertain looking at it. Again, it all is going to depend on condition of the Stamps and without seeing them everyone is basically throwing darts as to what to do with them. |

Stalzer: Obviously humor is not your forte. This "vet" is playing you and everyone else on this forum. His story is nonsense. If true he is a most unusual fellow indeed who would benefit from a dose of reality rather than your hand-holding. This chap is an attention-seeking leech. Please folks ignore this time-waster. This posting says it all: Quote: <---- <---- <----

Obviously humor is not your forte. Sorry I missed that, I won't go into reasons why. I agree with the rest of your post, time will tell whether or not we see the rest of the supposed Stamps. |

lord... this VET served 10 years serving this great country in the US Army. So I have seen reality at its best and worst. Humor is just that, humor. After you do what I did you would have some humor also. If you don't like mine, don't read the post. Don't read the posts and you wont waste your time. The people in here have been a great help in teaching me about all of this and I thank them greatly! Yes, I am learning on what to do in order to sell what I have, I knew it would and will not happen overnight. To all the other people in here, I apologize if the small comments I do make are not welcome.
I know pictures will help, its common sense. What I am trying to get at is the fact that I have so much that it is easier to know what people want and get the scans for those.
thank you for your time. |
