Hi All

I almost traded this postcard off as a duplicate. when sorting through some of my duplicate cards last night, I noticed that the stamp on this postcard had a very nice "BT" perfin. This was used by the "Bell Telephone Company of Canada" and, this is a nice early example. Sure glad I took the second look.

Agreed cynical. I bought the postcard because of the Muskoka related scene not realizing that (1) - It was a Muskoka view I already had, and (2)I didn't notice the perfin until I took the second look through all my duplicates.

Now, it will go in to my perfins collection. I also have other examples of this duplex cancel as well.

On a side note, when I first realized the perfin on the card, I thought it was improper usage, but, noticed it is addressed to the Bell Company in Welland. So, that is now official business and proper usage. All the better. (Hmmm, just looked again at the message - doesn't look official but more about family - still a good find nonetheless)

It's also interesting that the postcard was "Published in" Toronto, Canada ... but "Made in" U.S.A. (?)

Valentine Black were based in Toronto (hence 'Published in'), but spread their printing around a number of printers, some of whom were in the USA (Hence, 'Made in').

Thanks for that Bamra

There were a numbers of publishers who apparently did that as well.
