Curious about the length of time it takes for APS to process a membership application. From what I've seen on here, it may take 2 months or more. Am I correct in that assumption? Their website shows a pro-rating od dues every three months. If I submit my membership app and my pro-rated dues of $48.00 on 1 October, but my application isn't processed until 1 February 2014, what happens to the extra dues for Oct-Dec 2013? Just curious as to how they handle that.

Yes I joined the end of June and was just accepted a couple of weeks ago as a full member. You will see you name posted in the monthly magazine. I think the membership has three months to object to your joining after your name has been posted. If there are no objections you are in!

I think your application is processed right away but you have a probationary period. It seems like they use this time to weed out some bad apples that have done things like not paying for approvals and such. You have some benefits but there will be some things you can't do until you are a full member. For example you can purchase from the store but you can't request to be added to a circuit book. David

Hi,
It took me about 2 1/2 - 3 months. While I'm not active in it (yet), the monthly mag is really interesting.

I appreciate the info, folks! I'll press on and see what happens...Maybe I'll have a number by January! I am certain the membership is worth it, if for no other reason than to further the hobby!

The membership is worth it; and worth the wait. Steve (member since February, 1974)
