I would think they would be a lot harder to get the stamps in and out of with 3 sides sealed. |

I bought a collection that had some in them. I did not like them. I much prefer Scott/Prinz. |

If these are like little pockets attached with a thin line of adhesive, I've had to work with them when removing stamps from collections. They appear simple enough, but removing a stamp is quite bothersome! I prefer Scott/Prinz. |

I've seen them in some old collections I've picked up and even some that were completely sealed on all 4 sides. Didn't like them |

Mike33, I think what you refer to are the old 'Protective Mounts', Not at all like the White Ace brand. I have used those for years, the stamps are not sealed in and you can extract them fairly easily. They are self adhesive which some do not like. I have also noticed they are easy to reuse- you ca just peel off one page and onto another. |

Ok. I will take everyone's experience with mounts over my newb thoughts anyday. I will go for the split back mounts. |

My preference is Scott split back. Some people have issues with split back mounts and want you to use hawid top opening mounts, which are open on 3 sides. They work relatively well, though I find that larger items tend to fall out of them, as you turn the page. |

Quote:Here's a link to the White Ace product referred to in the previous post. Not exactly "cheap" at $7.75 per 100 mounts, plus shipping, but for those who want the three side sealed mounts, they're certainly out there: https://www.washpress.com/stampmount.jsp This is good to know . Thanks Stamps1962 , and wt1 |

Suggestion to anyone who uses the Scott mounts or is thinking about using them. If you subscribe to Linns or other Amos products you become an Amos Advantage member. The real benefit is not the magazine but the discounts that Amos offers to their members. Something like 25%, if I remember correctly. Well worth the subscription if you have a big order. The membership goes on even if you don't renew the subscription...

I recently received some stamps in mounts that are open on two sides, sealed on top and bottom, with a strip of glue/gum across top backside. Are these the White Ace mounts? Unfortunately White Ace doesn't have any pictures of their mounts on their website.
thanks, G |

Art Amos' saving is really negated by the great prices Global Stamps offer. And unlike Amos, if you order over $25, your shipping is free. Though Amos' discount is well worth it for other products they sell, such as stamp albums and catalogs. |
