Hi, and welcome!
Is the writing under/over the center in oriental script as well?

Welcome to the forum desmodavid

Your stamp looks Chinese but I tend to think that it is some kind of a revenue stamp. Failing that, it might be a local of some kind? Neither locals, or revenues can be found in the regular catalogues, if this is the case.

Desmodavid, your first try was the right way up.

I can hardly make out any of the inscriptions, but it seems to be denominated '4 Rin', which would make it a Japanese revenue stamp.
