Some readers of this forum do not use Scott catalogue numbers when referring to Canadian stamps. I don't bother with them. Even those who enjoy using numbers to describe stamps may not know the number for the 1934 Jacques Cartier stamp. Recent headings of topics in this forum simply state catalogue numbers. Could you please identify the stamp with words please.

lorddenning....In the past, I have and many others have used Scott numbers as a reference and I believe that Unitrade also follows Scott's numbering system...Maybe you should (not being ignorant) purchase yourself one of these fine books to be able to recognize stamp numbers posted by people on this forum...Hey, no hard feelings, ok..just a thought...WERT |

Thanks for sharing these posts. I've been a semi-fanatic collector of Canada for years, but never thought to get into the "flyspecking" as you've done. And I for one appreciate your use of the Scott numbers instead of Gibbons. |

I enjoy your posts, wert. Maybe you could title them like:
#223: George VI Coronation
Then everyone would be happy. |

Hey wert! It's been a while. I have to admit your post above with just your name confused me, but then I caught on. Don't stop. I've never gotten into the flyspecking like you, but you obviously enjoy it, and your posts are fun and often informative. Many times I've seen things I never expected. Keep it up. |

And Wert, you know that I appreciate your posts.
But I do agree with SAK that using the catalogue number and description would be better.
In each of your recent posts, I had to open my Unitrade to find the stamp based on your catalogue number reference. Then search my own database of scanned stamps that are filed by "face value "(eg 5 cents), then by catalogue number.
Adding the facc value to the description would help me. Sc#223 13 Cent George VI Coronation |

Wert: my main specialty for "fly-specking" is the early Portuguese colonies. Maybe in the new year, I can find some time to check out my Canadian collection. |
