Neeskens13, wow!! I don't have any Zeppelin catalogs. How rare is that franking? Also, what about the purple circle cachet? |

Stampcrow:
The purple circle cachet was added to items that made the complete round trip for the 1930 South American Flight from Friedrichshafen (first flight left on May 18, 1930) to Friedrichshafen (last flight landed on June 6, 1930).
According to the Sieger catalog, there were 1,707 post cards and 461 letters carried on the Friedrichshafen round trip. |

Quote: I wonder if the majority of those were franked as yours is? I would tend to think so. The Sieger catalog lists the transport numbers I quoted directly under the "American Post" section. Also, the correct franking for a post card for the Freidrichshafen round trip was $1.95 (easily achieved with one C13 and one C14). |

So many beautiful covers on Zeppelin. Amazing thread. This makes me come back each time I'm active here.
I'm getting interested in collecting and have got a couple of covers on Zeppelin LZ130 but that I believe was a propaganda flight. Is it okay if I shared it here? |
